About The University Of Manchester

The University of Manchester is located in Manchester city of England. As a result of a merger of the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology and the Victoria University, the University of Manchester was established, in the year 2004. The University is a red brick public research university with its main campus located on Oxford  Road, to the south of Manchester city centre. In the years of 2016-2017, the university had a total of 40,490 students and a staff of approximately 10,400, which makes it the second largest of 167 UK universities, in terms of student population and it is also the largest single-site university.

The University of Manchester has a total of 25 Nobel laureates, inclusive of past and current students and 4 staff members; making it fourth-highest number in the UK, of any single university.
