Student needs to pay first due instalment and £100 deposit on 2nd September 2020. This can be paid on their online portal via Stripe payment method or via Bank Transfer.
Once the room is offered, the student and guarantor {if on instalment plan} have 5 days to accept the agreement which is emailed to them. The first instalment payment is due on the 2nd September 2020, along with £100 deposit, the second instalment is due on 28 September 2020, the third instalment is due on 18 January 2021 and the final instalment is due on 12 April 2021.
COVID UPDATE
We understand that there is still some uncertainty around COVID-19 and the impact on bookings for 2021/22 due to the ever-changing restrictions around the world.
That’s why we’ve answered all your questions (Under FAQ Section) about living at Nurtur House to give you peace of mind, allowing you to book with confidence in a COVID secure building.
Please note: Our terms on any flexibility offered on your tenancy contracts at Nurtur House are only available until 01/09/21. Circumstances must be communicated to us before this date with the relevant supporting documents such as your proof of university course delay or no place/visa no pay. Any flexibility on contract start dates will not be honored for requests received after this date.
Cancellation by you
Once you have entered into the Tenancy Agreement you will be liable for the contractual obligations (including payments) set out in it and may only cancel under the following circumstances:
1. Cooling-off period – before 1st August: Unless you have already collected the keys to the accommodation, you may cancel your booking by contacting us by e-mail at any time during the 5 days after we send you an e-mail confirming your booking is complete (the “5 Day Cooling-Off Period”). If you do that, we will make no charge and we will return any Advance Rent you have already paid to us within 7 working days to you.
2. Cooling-off period – including after 1st August: Unless you have already collected the key(s) to the accommodation, you may cancel your booking by contacting us by e-mail at any time up to 24 hours after we send you an e-mail confirming your booking is complete. If you do that, we will make no charge and we will return any Advance Rent you have already paid to us within 7 working days to you.
3. Failure to get grades (Undergraduates): Should you fail to gain the required qualifications and are not accepted into University, you may cancel your Tenancy Agreement and we will refund any Advance Rent payments within four weeks so long as you provide the following information within 72 hours of your exam results being published: (a) written confirmation from you that you wish to cancel your Tenancy Agreement due to having failed to obtain the required grades for your first choice University; and (b) supporting evidence from the University or UCAS.
4. No Visa: If you are required and fail to obtain a UK Visa before the start date of your tenancy, we will cancel your Tenancy Agreement and refund any Advance Rent payments made by you to us within four weeks provided you supply us with the following within 3 days of you receiving official confirmation that your visa was declined: (a) written confirmation from you that you wish to cancel your reservation; and (b) supporting official evidence to show that the UK Visa was declined.
5. Extenuating circumstances: If you are no longer able to attend University and/or live away from home due to extenuating circumstances, such as ill health or family issues, please contact us in order to discuss the matter. We may require you to provide us with proof of such circumstances prior to agreeing to terminate the Tenancy Agreement. You are liable to ensure all rent payments are up to date until any release from tenancy date is agreed. In the event a cancellation of booking under this policy is denied, you would be responsible for sourcing a placement tenant.
6. Cancellation by you – replacement tenant: you will remain liable for the full contractual rent, unless and until a suitable (in our sole opinion) replacement tenant is found by you for your accommodation. If a suitable replacement tenant is found, subject to our entering into a new agreement with such proposed tenant, you will be released from the contractual obligations set out in the Tenancy Agreement and any overpaid rent money will be refunded to you, less an amount equal to £50 as a cancellation and administrative fee. In the event of you sourcing a replacement tenant before your tenancy start date, subject to a successful tenancy take over, you are no longer liable for any administration fees or future contractual obligations set out in the Tenancy Agreement.
Cancellation by us
1. Failure to collect your key(s) within timeframe: If you enter into the Tenancy Agreement, and you then fail to collect your key within 28 days of the Tenancy Start Date, we reserve the right to: (a) cancel your booking and terminate the Tenancy Agreement and (b) re-let your room. In these circumstances any rent paid by you (including any Advance Rent will not be refunded to cover any losses incurred by us for empty unlet rooms. This provision takes precedence over any other provision set out in the Tenancy Agreement.
2. Provision of incomplete, false or misleading information: including a failure to complete your application, provide guarantor details or supporting documentation in good time or other reasons set out in the Tenancy Agreement.
Q. Will Nurtur House still be open in September?
Nurtur House is open for check-in weekend on September 12th & 13th.
Our schedule for completion is currently ahead of this date, and we look forward to welcoming our students this September.
Q. What will happen if my University course is delayed?
If you experience a delay in the start date of your course, please get in touch with our team.
We will need to see proof from your University confirming your new start date. At this stage, the team will discuss your options for a delayed check-in date.
In the instance, you will not be liable for a deposit or rent payments until the new check-in date commences.
You should contact us within 7 days of becoming aware of this information.
Q. What will happen if my course becomes online-based due to the COVID-19 outbreak, and there is no longer a need for me to move to Sheffield for my studies?
In this instance, you will not be liable for a deposit or rent payments and will be entitled to a refund of any monies already paid against your account.
We would need to see proof from your University that this is the case for the duration of the 20/21 academic year before you can be released from your contract.
You should contact us within 7 days of becoming aware of this information.
Q. What will happen if there are still travel restrictions in place?
If there are still travel restrictions in place, either into the United Kingdom or out of the country you are traveling from, you will not be expected to make rent payments until the restrictions are lifted.
For clarity, no student who is unable to check-in to Nurtur House due to travel restrictions implemented by the government will be expected to make deposit or rent payments. These payments will accumulate 48 hours after the restrictions are lifted.
This will be closely monitored by our accommodation team, who will be in regular contact with you in the weeks leading up to your proposed check-in date.
Q. There has been a visa processing delay, what can I do?
If you have experienced a delay in the processing of your visa due to the current COVID-19 outbreak, please get in touch with our team to discuss how this may affect the date you are able to move into Nurtur House.
In the instance, you will not be liable for a deposit or rent payments until the new check-in date commences.
We will need to see proof your Visa application has been delayed. At this stage, the team will discuss your options for a delayed check-in date.
Q. My visa application has been canceled, what can I do?
Please get in touch with our team with proof of the cancellation within 7 days of it being canceled.
Once proof of the cancellation has been accepted, we will be able to refund you any monies paid and confirm your release from the contract.
Q. What will happen if I contract COVID-19?
In this instance, we will work with you to decipher your options.
If you are unable to enroll in your university course for the duration of the 2021/22 academic year due to contracting COVID-19, we will refund your deposit and release you from your contract. This will be actioned upon proof of your positive test result, and proof from your university course provider that this is the case.
If you are unable to enroll on your university course for part of the 2020/22 academic year due to contracting COVID-19, we will work with you to determine a check-in date that works better for you. No deposit or rent payments will be due in the time before the new proposed check-in date. This will be actioned upon proof of your positive test result, and proof from your university course provider that this is the case.
