Q. What is the "no visa no pay policy"?
If you are a prospective international resident of the Village and you were not able to secure an offer of a place at RMIT University or unable to secure a visa to study in Australia, your room reservation will be terminated without penalty.
Q. Is there ethernet connectivity in the bedroom or is it only wifi?
The whole Village is accessible via WiFi, but you can also use Ethernet in the bedroom.
Q. What happens if I don't like my roommates after I have moved in?
We suggest to all residents to talk to the people first and if that doesn't work, then our Residential Manager can mediate a meeting. However, if we are unable to resolve the situation, then we can provide a room move to another available room. Depending on circumstance there may be a cost involved.
Q. Am I able to stay in my room over the holidays?
You are able to stay in your room throughout the dates of your contract and we can tailor your contract to your required dates.
Q. Can I live in the village if I do not study at Melbourne Polytechnic?
Our first priority is to all Melbourne Polytechnic students, however, we do accept anyone who is studying at a local university or TAFE in Melbourne.
Q. Can I bring my pet?
The village has a no pet policy – this, unfortunately, also includes goldfish.
Q. Do I have to find my own roommates?
You are not required to find your own roommates. You are able to just apply on your own and we will allocate you within an apartment that is suitable.
