Unilodge D2 is a modern student accommodation located on Orr Street in Carlton, Melbourne. The property has been designed keeping students in mind to ensure that everyone has a great university life in the Melbourne. Located bang in the RMIT campus precinct, 5mins from University of Melbourne and just a short distance from Lygon Street. Choose from a range of 2 bedroom apartment, penthouse apartment and studios. The property has great facilities as well such as bike storage, common area, lounge, games room, limited car parking, photocopying/printing and much more.
All rooms at Unilodge D2 student accommodation are well furnished and offer the best of student living in the city. You will be able to choose from independent studios or penthouse one bedroom apartments if you are looking to live independently. Each room comes fully furnished with a comfortable bed, ample storage space, a study station, state of art personal bathroom, a fully fitted kitchen and living space. Immediately after getting out of your parents home and living by yourself will be a great experience not only for the euphoria of freedom but also because it will be your first step towards becoming responsible. There is no need to get scared as the property nearly takes care of everything for you and all you have to do is worry about is your essay writing. But if you are looking to share your space with a friend or looking to make new friends then you can always choose from a 2 bedroom apartment. These student apartments in Melbourne are the same as the studio apartments with just few slight differences since you will have your own bedroom but will be sharing the kitchen, bathroom and communal spaces. Now as cosy as the apartment is there is plenty to do outside as well. Cook up a storm in the BBQ area or prep a meal with your friends in the communal area, perfect idea for a party we’d say! However, if you are in the mood to watch a movie then head to the cinema room, or challenge your friends to fortnight in the games room. There are quiet study spaces as well in the property where you can work on your essay or work together with your group on a submission.
There is plenty to do around the property as well. There is plenty that the place has around itself. You will find restaurants, cafes, shopping, supermarkets pretty much at your doorstep. If you are particularly hungry with no desire to cook then you can head to Ying Thai 2, just a few steps away from the property & perfect for a chore-free night. After all no cooking means no chores. If you are worried about your weekends, then don’t be. Unilodge D2 student accommodation is surrounded by great live music venues such as The Curtin and then there always is Illusions Bar and Nightclub, all within walking distance. So no matter what time of the night you will find your way back home safely.
International students in Melbourne will have plenty to do in the city. If you are fond of coffee you will find yourself in paradise as the city is famous world over for its coffee. Street art is another reason why the city is popular. Lose yourself in the graffiti laden streets of the city, there are tours as well that you can take to fully discover the street art in the city. If you are looking to go out for a walk or looking for a picnic spot then Botanical Garden is your place! You can also head to Queen Victoria’s market to shop like a local, from little boutiques to trendy cafes you will find it all here.
A security deposit equivalent to four (4) weeks rent is required. The security deposit is held in a trust account on behalf of the resident for the term of the tenancy and/or for any further period in which the resident may occupy the unit. The cost of repair or excessive cleaning may be deducted from the security deposit
Rent must always be paid in advance.
Payments can be made in the following way:
a) Bank Transfer into the Bank Account.
b) Direct Deposit at the bank into the nominated Bank Account.
c) Credit card at the reception desk during business hours
Updates to Policy
For all off-shore applications made to UniLodge, the property will be waitlisting these applications until such time as an announcement that the borders are opening.
So effectively, the property will not be offering contract leases, requesting security deposits or bonds, or any advanced rent.
The property will be filing all applications in date order and when it's announced that international travel will begin again, the property will proactively reach out to all applicants and progress their applications to bookings.
Regular Policy
Where a Resident believes that they cannot stay in the unit or continue to pay the rent, they must notify the management in writing as soon as possible - two weeks’ notice is the minimum time. When considering prematurely terminating your Tenancy Agreement, it is your responsibility to either continue to pay rent as per the agreement until the unit is re-let or find another suitable person to take over your unit so there is a continuation of payments to the unit owner.
The cost levied will be 2 weeks rent plus GST, $165 Advertising fee, and Rent paid until the apartment is leased again.
Q. Who pays for the water and internet connection?
The water connection is included in rent – no need to pay bills at the end of each month, enjoy the high-speed 100GB Wi-Fi internet (monthly allowance), as part of the room rent.
Q. What electricity cost am I responsible for?
Each tenant pays for their energy as it is separately metered.
Q. Will there be car park spaces available?
There will be a limited number of car park spaces available at an additional charge.
Q. Are pets allowed at this property?
Unfortunately pets are not accepted at this property.
Q. What kind of contracts are offered?
Full Year and Half Year leases are being offered. For requirements are outside of these terms, leave a query.
Q. What fees are payable to reserve my booking?
To secure your booking an advance deposit, which is an amount equal to two (2) weeks’ rent (inclusive of GST).
Q. When will the advanced booking amount be charged?
The advanced booking deposit will be requested for payment once the booking inquiry has been approved.
