Lomax Halls is a modern student accommodation located on Hill Street in Stokes-on-Trent and designed keeping the active student lifestyle in mind. Staffordshire University is just 10 mins walk away and so is the city centre. The bus stop is less than a minute walk from the property so you can travel with ease to Keele University Medical School and Keele University’s main campus. The train station is about an 8 minute walk. A wide range of en-suite rooms in Cluster Flats and Studio Flats are available along with focused Study Areas, Communal Social Spaces and Gym facility. The student housing in Stokes-on-Trent property offers girls-only clusters as well. It is a 24/7 managed accommodation property. The office is open from Monday to Friday from 8.00 am till 4.30pm. They have Residential Coordinators who can assist students after office hours.
At Lomax Halls accommodation all rooms are well furnished and offer the best of student living in the city. If you are looking to socialise and live with other university students then the cluster flats are the best option for you. You have your own room with a private shower, a cosy bed, ample storage space for all your belongings and a study station for your study time. When not studying in your room come out in the common living area of the flat to chat and catch up with your flatmates. Watch a movie together or heat up a pizza in the kitchen and have yourselves a little party. There are Studio Flats available as well if you are looking for a more independent space. Enjoy more space to yourself with a private shower, study station, kitchen and bed. Come home to relax on your bed whilst you watch your favourite show on your laptop connect to the Wi-Fi. If hungry then fix yourself a meal in the kitchen and if you are not in the mood to study just yet then head down to the social spaces in the building. If you are burning the midnight oil then pick yourself an espresso shot from Apple’s Coffee House from across the street, it will help in staying alert during long night study sessions.

Deposit Fees
To secure your room for 2020/2021 there is a deposit fee of £150 (refundable at the end of your tenancy subject to terms and conditions) to be paid when your Tenancy Agreement has been signed.

You will need to complete the Credit/Debit card. We will keep these details to process your rent on each rent instalment date.
Cheque
You will need to provide post dated cheques for all the rental instalments in advance. The cheques will be banked by Mezzino on each rental instalment date. Cheques will need to be made payable to “Mezzino Ltd – Lomax Halls rent”. Please ensure you write your name, apartment and room number on the back of the cheques.
Internet/Telephone Bank Transfer

Updates to Policy
If enrolment into the intended course is withdrawn as a result of coronavirus, Mezzino shall release the student from the signed contract subject to them supplying written evidence from their place of study. (University)
For students who have failed to get a visa or have received an admit reject for their University, Mezzino's standard cancellation policy will apply
You get 14-day cool off period (Free cancellation period) to cancel your booking after you sign the tenancy agreement. If you cancel within the 14-day period, your booking fee is refunded.
If you make your booking fewer than 14 days before your tenancy start date, you may cancel your booking until the 14-days after you sign your tenancy or the date you check-in, whichever is earlier.
If you cancel your booking after the 14-days cool off period, your booking fees is not refunded, and if reasonable, you are obligated to pay the rent as per the tenancy agreement.
If you would like to cancel after having moved in, you are required to find a suitable replacement student to take over your tenancy agreement. Once the replacement tenant pays the rent due, your deposit and any paid rent is refunded to you. And if you fail to find a replacement, you are responsible for meeting the conditions of the tenancy agreement and pay the rent.
Q. Can I move in early?
Yes, dependent on availability. Please speak to the booking team.
Q. Can I view the property before booking?
Of course. Viewings of rooms can be taken throughout the year with at least 24 hours’ notice needed to be given. We can also arrange Skype Viewings for you. Please inform us and we shall be more than happy to arrange a viewing for you.
Q. Can I choose a certain room?
Yes. The sooner that you book your accommodation the more likely you are of getting a certain room. Dependent on availability.
Q. How and when are rooms allocated?
Rooms are allocated on preference. Please enter preferences when booking through the website and followed up booking form.
Q. What documents do I need to bring to the property when I move in?
Please bring an official form of ID with you e.g. passport or provisional/driving license. If you have not already returned the original signed tenancy agreement you should also bring these with you.
Q. Where do I get my keys?
You can collect your keys from reception when you check in. Just come straight to the main reception with your photo ID and they will have the keys ready and waiting for you.
Q. Can you store my luggage if I get it delivered to site before I arrive?
As we will be preparing the room for your arrival, we will not be able to store any luggage for you before you arrive.
Q. I haven’t yet signed my paperwork, can I still move in?
We will need your signed tenancy agreement and payment information before you move in.
Q. What time can I move in from?
You can move in any time from the start date of your tenancy onwards. We can accommodate around your needs.
Q. Do I need a TV licence?
TV licences are given for the communal kitchen areas but if you are bringing your own TV for your study room a licence is required.
Q. How do I log repairs?
Any maintenance issues are to be reported to reception a member of our team will log this and the issue will be resolved as soon as possible.
Q. What is the policy on guest staying in my room?
You may have occasional overnight guests but not to have overnight visitors longer than two consecutive nights. Ensure that any visitors sign in at reception on arrival and on departing the building.
Q. Will my cluster be cleaned?
Your rooms and cluster kitchens are cleaned for when you arrive. Once you have moved in you will be responsible for the cleaning of your room.
Q. What is the security is available?
24 hour CCTV is available across all our sites. The building is also monitored 24 hours a day by staff, Student Ambassadors or Security. Secure key access throughout the buildings.
Q. Can I smoke anywhere onsite?
Smoking is not permitted anywhere inside of the building but facilities are provided on the exterior.
Q. How can I pay if I’m an overseas student?
Pay to Study offers a fast and secure way to send payments globally at no cost to the payer or the payee by using a simple 3 step process.
Q. How can I pay for my rent?
Payments of direct debit can be set up upon signing of your Tenancy Agreement or rent payment can be paid in one full instalment on or before arrival. We currently accept Bank transfers and cheque details of which will be given in you accommodation pack.
Q. Can I leave early and get the reminder of my rent back?
You will be liable for the full rent specified in your tenancy agreement unless a replacement tenant is found.
Q. How do I go about collecting my post?
Reception will inform you when post and parcel have been delivered to reception otherwise will be posted into your flat post box.
Q. Where do I take my rubbish and recycling?
Within all sites there are designated bin stores with large bins for general and smaller bins dedicated to recycling.
Q. Can I stay in my room over the summer holidays?
Yes, speak to a member of management for special offers that might be available.
