St Thomas Court is a contemporary student accommodation that is located on Gasking Street right in the very heart of Plymouth. Getting to campus everyday is convenient as well since University of Plymouth campus is located just 5mins from the property with Plymouth Marjon University campus being 30mins away by bus. Choose from a range of en-suite rooms in Cluster Flats or fully self-contained Studio Apartments. The property also boasts of Study Spaces and Common Areas to socialise. The property has Bike Storage as well.

All rooms at St Thomas Court accommodation are well planned and furnished with all the essentials that you would require for a comfortable stay. If you are a post-graduate student then you will love the cluster flats, as they will give you the right opportunity to socialise and meet other university students as well. You will however have a room all to yourself. Each room comes furnished with a comfortable bed, study space, ample storage for all your belongings and a private shower. This means that you will not have to queue up every morning to get ready and can study too without any distractions. Come home to hang out with your flatmates in the living area. Host a board game night or watch a movie together on your laptop. You can prep your meals together in the kitchen, learn new recipes from your flatmates or divide cooking duties. Living with other university students is always fun, not only do you learn so much but you also make memories that last a lifetime. For those of you who are post-graduate students and are looking for a more independent set up will love the studio apartments. These apartments come fully furnished like the rest of the property with a comfortable bed, ample storage space, study area, private shower and a fully fitted kitchen. You can study without being distracted and have your friends over when you are taking a break from books. The property has great social spaces for when you are looking to take a break from work. The common room at the property is the ideal place for when you are taking a break from books. The social areas are great even if you are planning on hosting your friends. The property has study rooms as well. Studying in one place can get monotonous and comfortable after a point, leaving you distracted and bored during your sessions. The study room at the property prevents you from falling into a rut. Study for your exams in the study room with other students. If you are planning on bringing your bike with you to university then there is bike storage at the property where you can park your bike without fearing about its security or unnecessarily cluttering your room with it.

There is plenty for international students to do in Plymouth. Do visit the National Marine Aquarium as it is the largest in the UK and promises a fun trip. The Smeaton’s Tower is practically famous and a very well known landmark and its in Plymouth’s Hoe. If you are the one who loves the outdoors then kayaking on Plymout’s clear waters is just the adventure you need.

Around the property too there is plenty you will find to explore. Looking to foster your no cook mood then you will find that restaurants surround the property. Take you pick from take away or dining out with your friends. Domino’s is ideal if you are looking for a takeaway or sample best global food at The Mission. Spend your weekends dancing and enjoy cocktails with your friends at the Pryzm. It is famous amongst students in Plymouth and with good reason. Enjoy a night away from books with your friends and some chart topping music.

We want you to have the best student experience possible. That means going beyond just providing somewhere comfy and practical to live, to ensure you feel safe and happy. And we have staff on-hand 24/7 to ensure that’s the case. It’s why we’ve been awarded an International Accommodation Quality Mark and have been voted Best Value for Money 2016 in the National Student Housing Survey, the question should really be, why should I not stay at The Hive?

Q. Do I have to be a student to live at The Hive?

Q. Can I connect to the internet?

Absolutely. A super fast internet connection is available in every bedroom. But just so you know, broadband arrangements do vary in some halls.

Q. Can I have guests to stay?

Overnight guests are permitted provided your flatmates agree. All overnight guests must be signed in at reception for safety, security and so that staff know who is on site in the event of an emergency. You must accompany your guests at all times whilst they are on site and you are responsible for their behaviour.

Q. Who is responsible for cleaning my flat?

It is the resident’s own responsibility to clean their rooms and they share responsibility for the communal area of the flat. Management staff will conduct monthly inspections and you are expected to ensure that your room and flat is clean on these days. Failure to meet the required cleanliness standards will result in external cleaning contractors being brought in, the cost of which will be passed onto the resident(s). At the end of the tenancy the bedroom and flat must be returned in a good, clean condition to avoid cleaning charges, again it is the responsibility of all residents to ensure the kitchen and lounge are clean. The block stairways are regularly cleaned by The Hive staff.

Q. Do I need to move out during the holidays?

Your contract is for a fixed length of time – so your room is yours throughout that period. That means that you don’t have the hassle of moving your belongings out during the Christmas or Easter vacations, and you can choose to stay in your property over these holidays if you want. It’s usually possible to book additional accommodation over the summer period if you want to stay then too. But we advise booking early to ensure rooms are available.

Q. Will I be able to change rooms after I have arrived?
It is not usually possible to change rooms after you have arrived. All rooms are allocated on a 42 or 50-week contract and unless another resident also requests a room swap we would be unable to change your room.

Q. Do you have staff at your properties?

Every student home has a team of trained staff on site to respond to meet your needs. Their job is to make your experience as enjoyable as possible. Our on-site management offices are open Monday to Friday and will answer any questions, respond to any issues, offer advice and ensure a friendly face is there to greet you every day.

Q. What happens on move-in day?
You will be welcomed on arrival in the Building you are booked into by a member of The Hive staff and you will be directed to your room.

Q. What happens if I have a maintenance problem?

Every student home has a dedicated caretaker team to respond to and solve your maintenance issues. We respond to every issue quickly and, if possible, will complete the repair during the first visit. Of course, this isn’t always possible and there are times when parts need to be ordered or external contractors arranged. When this happens, we’ll keep you updated on the progress.
