A non-refundable holding deposit of £100 to allocate you a room. When you move in your holding deposit will turn into a damage deposit and will be [returned at the end of your license minus any damages]. You will be required to top up the holding deposit prior to move in to make the deposit up to £250.
Rent Payments:
If you have a UK guarantor then you can pay in 3 instalments in September, January and April. The 1st payment will be due 12 days before your licence starts. If the 1st instalment of your Student Loan is paid after this date then we can accept a payment of 4 weeks rent 1 week before you move in, with the balance paid when you receive your loan.
Mode of Payment:
Debit card, credit card, or bank transfer are all fine.
Updates To Policy
Book with Confidence
Book a room with Capitol Students for the 2021/22 academic year and you can cancel your booking before 31st May 2021. There will be no penalty charges and you will receive a full refund of any money paid.
No Visa No Pay, No Place No Pay
For 2021/22 academic year bookings, if you meet any of the conditions below, you will be able to cancel your booking and receive a full refund of your Booking Fee and any paid rent payments,
(a) No Visa No Pay: if you don't get your visa to come and study in the UK, you must send us the visa application rejection letter within 72 hours of receiving it. This policy is valid until 15 September 2021.
(b) No Place No Pay: if you fail to gain the required qualifications and is not accepted into the University, you need to send us the university rejection letter, or proof that the exam results don’t meet the requirements of the university. You must send us the proof documents within 72 hours of receiving them. This policy is valid until 15 September 2021.
General Policy
Once you have paid your holding deposit and you have been allocated a
room, then should you decide to cancel then the holding deposit is nonrefundable.
If you have paid the holding deposit and signed the license agreement
then you will be held to the terms of the license until a replacement
licensee is found.
If you rebook a room for a subsequent year and your deposit is carried
forward, and then you decide to cancel this booking then the deposit will
be withheld
Q. Are there fridges in the rooms?
Yes – each studio or flat kitchen has a fridge with a freezer compartment.
Unfortunately, you cannot bring your own fridge as this would invalidate our insurance.
Q. Do I need to bring any furniture?
All our rooms are all really well equipped with high-quality furnishings that provide ample storage and comfort.
Q. Can my friend store their things/belongings/luggage in my room?
No. Letting someone else store their things in your room is a breach of your Licence Agreement, and it will also invalidate your insurance coverage.
Q. How safe is my room?
Your room is very safe - all door entry is secured with a lock system and all communal space has CCTV.
Q. Can I choose my flatmates?
You can request to be in a room close to or within the same flat as your friends, however this is subject to availability. We will do all we can to accommodate your request. Subject to availability you may request to be in a single sex cluster flat for religious or cultural reasons.
