All flats have the bathroom facilities and kitchen area shared among flatmates. The kitchen has a keypad entry and has lockable cupboards, where you can keep your food, knowing it is going to be exactly where you left it! You can cook a meal together or just hang out after the long day at uni in the kitchen/ living area. You will be living in corridor style rooms, fully furnished with a bed, study desk and chair, wardrobe space as well as a wash basin. If you are confused whether to bring your bike to uni or not, we recommend you do, because there is ample bike storage onsite and you won’t have to drag your bicycle up the stairs to your flat. If you are bringing your car and don’t want to spend extra for parking, this is the place for you; since there is free parking available. You will be doing your own washing and won’t have your mum, sort it out for you at uni, but don’t stress. There are onsite laundry facilities, very easy and quick to operate. The best part is yet to come; the kitchen and bathrooms in your flat will be cleaned every day from Monday to Friday, which leaves you with the only task – keeping your own room neat and tidy. This service allows you to get enough time on your own to study and save time on cleaning. On days you are feeling lost or are facing a problem in your room or flat, you can contact the student residence assistants and they will find a solution to your problems at the earliest. There are provisions for wheelchair access for students with disabilities.
Whilst living at Wavell House Aberdeen you will be within short walking distance from local pubs, bars and restaurants. You can have a good time with friends on a casual bar night, without having to venture out too far from your new home. Black Dog, Brig O’Don Pubs and St. Machar Bar are bound to become your favourite haunts. If you have a flavour for the Indian cuisine, well you can knock yourself out at either of Shish Tandoori or Shalimar restaurant. For that morning cheerful cup of coffee, you can head to Costa Express only a few minutes away on foot.
With the Aberdeen city centre only 20 minutes away by bus, from Wavell House, you will be spoilt for choice when it comes to things to do. Go site-seeing and discover the Dunnottar, Balmoral and Fyvie Castles or visit the fantastic Aberdeen Beach which is another 20 minutes from the city centre. The nightlife in Aberdeen is next to epic, with Wilboar Pub, Scream Bars and Nox and Babylon topping student lists.

The student will be held liable for the rent until the termination date unless he/she finds a replacement to take over the room, this student must not be living in University accommodation and must be the same gender.
Q. What happens during the vacation periods?
If you live in University accommodation then you are allowed to stay in halls over the vacation periods.
Q. When and Where can I collect my keys from?
keys should be collected at the reception desk at the Central Building at the Hillhead Student Village, open 24 hours.
Q. Will I be charged for property damages?
Residents will be charged for any damage (which they do not record on the online inventory at the start of the Accommodation Agreement period) in their bedroom and a share of non-attributable damages in communal areas of the flat or house. It is therefore important that residents complete the online inventory form on arrival.

Q. Is there any providence of personal Insurance?
All students who live in University-owned or managed accommodation for which they pay residence fees are covered by basic Endsleigh Insurance. Some of your items will not be covered in this policy and you may need to top up your insurance.
