A Complete UCAS Clearing Guide For 2017!

Study Aug 12, 2017

Stressed about UCAS Clearing Day? Don’t be! Just remember a few important things, and you will be just fine! To help – we have made you a list!

Now, if you did not receive the grades you were expecting or would have like, you would surely be rushing to find a spot for yourself in a university through UCAS Clearing right after the Result Day. But if you are an international student, and you missed the UCAS deadline, Clearing could be your saviour!

Now in order to make the most of UCAS Clearing you need to keep a few things in mind. First remember the UCAS Clearing Date is 18th August 2017, and the clearing positions at the universities are limited, so it is important to act fast!

Planning is Key!

Now if you are thinking that you will wait until Result Day to think of your Clearing options, then that will be the gravest mistake you will make. Most Universities would have already put up their Clearing information. Use this time to research about the places that you would like to apply to.

This will also help you in keeping yourself better occupied than stressing yourself sick over results. It will also help you in putting a contingency plan in place, should something not go according to plan.

For those International students, who missed the UCAS deadline and thought they would need to wait another year for the UCAS deadline to come around then you are in luck, apply through UCAS Clearing and you could see yourself in University in September!

A List Is Must

On the result day, if you simply pick up the phone and call on the UCAS Clearing hotline for every university in a frantic panic you might end up accepting an offer that you will later regret. Instead we suggest carefully make a list of all contact details for universities that you are interested in and would like to apply at. Think about what course you are looking at, the ranking for that course at the University. Also the university’s reputation and so on and so forth.

Prep!

When making those calls to the universities, ensure that you have your UCAS ID and your personal clearing number and exam results with you, keep a copy of your personal statement. Just in case the tutor wishes to know why they should select you. Once you have a confirmation from the University for a Clearing position, be sure to log-in to your UCAS portal and put the said university as your Clearing choice. Make sure you do not delay this at all!

UCAS Clearing Open Day

Most universities keep Open Days for Clearing. Check the dates and go, it is important to know where you will be spending the better of three years at. You do not want to make a hasty decision as there is no going back from there (we cannot emphasize on this enough!).

*Now that all is done, again if your choice of University has agreed to offer you a place then act fast!!!!!!!!!!

Log-in to your UCAS portal and accept the said university as your choice for clearing.

We wish you Good Luck and hope you get the university of your choice!
